The story of the SurfCity Guesthouse
The SurfCity Guesthouse has a long and special tradition in Unawatuna
with deep roots to the Netherlands and into the Sri Lankan Muslim
culture who both have contributed a lot to one of the most friendly
and mixed places in Unawatuna where all nationalities and cultures
enjoy having a great time.
Over the years the SurfCity Guesthouse had also been involved in
many community efforts, events and social sponsorships.
A lot of input has come from the Dutch co-owners Imco and Hellena
who have lived for more than 8 years in Unawatuna.
Meanwhile Ravi Lyanage from Galle has become a partner in the operation
and it his him who is handling the daily management.
Very special is certainly the tsunami story from SurfCity, where
all guests and staff had managed to survive.
In fact all of them had even been able to recover their entire
luggage.
